Abdomen & Pelvis Plain CT-Scan

A plain CT scan of the abdomen and pelvis is a diagnostic imaging procedure where no contrast dye is used initially. This provides a baseline image of the area's structures. After the initial images are captured, a contrast dye, usually iodine-based, may be injected into a vein in your arm. The dye enhances the visibility of blood vessels, organs, and any abnormalities. When the dye is injected, you might experience a warm sensation or a metallic taste in your mouth.
