Neck/Thyroid Sonography

Thyroid/neck sonography is a non-invasive imaging technique that uses sound waves to produce detailed images of the thyroid gland and surrounding neck structures. This method helps determine whether a lump in the neck originates from the thyroid or nearby areas. It is primarily used to assess the thyroid gland's anatomy and function, as well as to identify and monitor thyroid disorders such as goiter, thyroid cancer, and nodules. Additionally, thyroid sonography examines thyroid nodules to distinguish between common benign nodules and those that may require a biopsy.
