Adenoids/Nasopharynx CT-Scan

The adenoids are tissue patches located at the back of the nasal cavity, near the openings of the Eustachian tubes. These tissues are part of the immune system, helping to filter out bacteria and viruses entering through the nose. The nasopharynx is the upper part of the throat located behind the nose. Various imaging techniques, including CT scans, can evaluate the adenoids and nasopharynx. A CT scan of the paranasal sinuses (PNS) provides detailed images, allowing healthcare providers to assess the size, shape, and potential abnormalities of the adenoids and nasopharynx.
