Transvaginal/Transrectal USG Sonography

Transvaginal and transrectal ultrasound sonography are used to examine the female reproductive system and the prostate, respectively. These procedures involve inserting a probe into the vagina or rectum to obtain detailed images of the pelvic organs. They are often used to evaluate conditions such as prostate issues, irregular bleeding, pelvic pain, and infertility.

For rectal sonography, either an endorectal sonographic probe, consisting of a rigid probe and a fixed sonographic crystal array, or an echoendoscope, which is a sonographic crystal array attached to an endoscopic instrument for examining the lower gastrointestinal tract, can be used. These devices provide similar information about pathological abnormalities in the rectum. A radiologist interprets the ultrasound images to help diagnose and treat these conditions, ensuring precise and reliable results.
